Development of GEA

The development of representation artefacts is the main body of work to be done in establishing the GEA. This will be an ongoing process with a number of high-priority domains selected for progression at any one time.

A full consultation process with agencies will be followed for the development of GEA artefacts.

Eighteen priority domains have been selected for development within the 2005 calendar year:

These domains were selected based on a formal assessment of all domains with regard to criteria such as status of existing standards across government and potential contribution of the domain to overall inter-agency interoperability.

Alignment with the GEA

The Smart Directions Statement requires all Queensland Government agencies to demonstrate alignment with the Government Information Architecture (Action 1.3).

Alignment for each domain requires that agencies are either consistent with the domain target, or have plans in place to change their environment such that they become consistent with the domain target.
