Ignite - innovation in the Queensland Government

Ignite!

The Queensland Government Chief Information Office and the ICT Innovation Fund Committee are leading a whole-of-Government project to identify and develop new mechanisms or practices to improve the way the Queensland Government operates.

All agencies have been invited to participate in a series of Ignite - innovation within Queensland Government workshops across Queensland to stimulate innovative ideas.

The workshops are scheduled for February and March 2007.

Proposals can be relatively dry to imaginative, inexpensive to substantial, single agency, multi-agency or whole-of-Government. The intent is to provide learning, cost savings or add value to agencies or the community whether in terms of technology, human resources or processes.

The ideas collated at the workshops will be developed into a prioritised program of work.

Among other avenues, this work may be funded through the ICT Innovation Fund or the GITC Service Provision Fund which have approximately $6M and $3M available for whole-of-Government ICT initiatives.

If you are a Queensland Government employee wanting to find out about the Ignite workshops, including the dates of the workshops, and how the ideas will be developed please visit our GovNet site.
