ICT Workforce Capability Plan

ICT workforce capability plan

The Queensland Government is currently facing ICT skills shortages.  As the population ages and significant numbers of experienced staff retire, the problem will become more severe.

The ICT Workforce Capability Plan for Government Employees 2006 was developed in consultation with Queensland Government agencies.  It provides a whole-of-Government direction for building and maintaining a public sector ICT workforce with the skills necessary to make best use of ICT, enable high quality service delivery and to ensure maximum return on the State Government's ICT investment.

One initiative under the Plan is the Queensland Government ICT Career Graduate Development Program. The Program is a cross-government initiative designed to recruit recent university graduates to ICT careers within the Queensland Government.
