About the Unit
ICT Policy & Investment Review (IP&IR) supports the Queensland Government Chief Information Officer and provides high level policy advice on a wide range of matters relating to business management and information and communication technology. IP&IR undertakes and coordinates high level analysis, research and reporting to the Minister, Director-General and other stakeholders.
In addition, the Director - IP&IR provides strategic leadership, management, coordination of and advice on the day to day operations of the Queensland Government Chief Information Office.
IP&IR comprises two service areas: Executive Liaison & Cabinet Review and Business Services.
Executive Liaison and Cabinet Review
The area provides expert strategic analysis, advice, direction and policy recommendations to the Department and Government on ICT issues and initiatives.
The area promotes a consistent and coordinated approach to ICT investment and policy decisions within the Queensland Government.
Our Services
The area’s functions include:
- Analysis of ICT issues and planned ICT investments from a whole-of-Government perspective
- Executive advice, coordination and briefings (including Premier’s Briefing notes on Cabinet and CBRC submissions)
- Advice to agencies on planned ICT investments and initiatives
Business Services
Business Services provides advice and services to Queensland Government Chief Information Office staff on a range of business management and administration matters. The area also coordinates reporting to the Minister, Director-General and other stakeholders and ensures quality control of all correspondence.
