The core focus of the Government ICT Industry Liaison unit is to build relationships and promote opportunities for collaboration between the ICT industry and Queensland Government agencies; i.e. connect them to the right person.
This includes communicating the strategic direction for ICT in the Government and identifying oppotunities for partnering through:
- one-on-one meetings with industry on how to engage with Government
- ICT industry presentations to agencies sharing information about emerging technologies and ICT best practice
- ICT industry forums to inform industry of major upcoming Queensland Government initiatives
- providing support and advice to agencies undertaking ICT investment initiatives and facilitate an early ICT industry engagement process
- developing ICT project sizing, requirements specification and early market sounding guidance material
- undertaking and facilitating the $2 million procurement review process
- providing guidance to agencies undertaking ICT strategic sourcing initiatives and lead whole of Government sourcing exercises where there is no natural business owner
- liaising and collaborating with ICT industry associations in a number of areas to improve access to the Government market
- providing Secretariat support to the Industry/Government ICT Group.
