ICT Recruitment

ICT role profiles

Role profiles

The Queensland Government has a wide variety of ICT roles which offer ICT professionals a challenging and rewarding career.

Roles vary from working on a help desk, building and maintaining information systems, working with the business to identify innovative solutions or devising ICT strategies.

QGCIO is currently defining profiles for the range of ICT roles available in the Queensland Government.

Career pathways

Due to declining ICT University enrolments, the aging population and competition with the private sector and global market, there is an increasing scarcity of suitably skilled and experienced ICT professionals.

The Queensland Government Chief Information Office has developed a report, entitled A Framework for Defining an IT Career (PDF 115 kB), outlining these and other issues facing the ICT industry.  The report also proposes important solutions to address this problem into the future.

Finding a job

Looking for a new job?

There are a number of ICT positions currently available within the Queensland Government.

Information about these positions is available on the Smart Jobs and Careers page.

The Smart Jobs and Careers page provides applicants with all the information required to not only find the right job, but to successfully apply for the job too!
