Biometrics (Definition)

A measure of an attribute of a natural person's physical self, or of their physical behaviour. In principal at least, a Biometric can be used: to validate an entity (where the entity is a natural person) as an Authentication mechanism for an entity as means of restricting the use of a personalised credential or token to the appropriate natural person. Examples include: fingerprint, voice-print, iris-scan.
