Legislation (Definition)

Acts as passed and subordinate legislation (such regulations) of the Queensland Parliament or other jurisdictions (such as the Australian Commonwealth) that are legally enforceable in the state of Queensland. Legislation contains a set of rules expressed as an obligation, an authorization, permission or a prohibition. In the context of the Queensland Government Information Architecture legislation is merely one type of constraint. Examples included: Water Act 2000, Financial Management Standard 1997 and Commonwealth Privacy Act 1988.
