Finance Graduates carry out a diverse range of tasks to help achieve the government’s strategic objectives. They provide accurate, cost-effective and timely financial and business support.

As a member of the finance team in a large IT unit you will be actively involved in the day-to-day financial operations and important major projects.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • assist in the reporting of financial and business information to help inform decision making
  • gain technical accounting experience in the fields of tax, financial systems, asset and management accounting
  • gain knowledge in allied functions of accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchasing, treasury and corporate support in the IT environment.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • have strong analytical and interpersonal skills
  • be highly motivated and looking for challenging and rewarding employment
  • have strong head for figures and enjoy balancing a spreadsheet
  • be working towards further professional development through seeking CPA/CA accreditation.

Technical skills and qualifications

Technical skills:

  • a broad understanding of fundamental accounting concepts.

Your degree may be in:

  • Commerce, finance, accounting, business or information systems.
