Mobile platform application developer

A Mobile Platform Application Developer Graduate assists to interpret business, system and service requirements to design and develop compelling mobile user experiences and applications. You will have the opportunity to assist to deliver better internal services within government and make improvements to the mobile service the Queensland community receives.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Contribute to mobile application design and development for iOS and Android platforms
  • Gain hands-on experience using associated development environments and tools
  • Assist in interfacing mobile applications with backend web services and API’s
  • Assist with the research and trend analysis and testing of new mobile platforms

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience designing and developing mobile applications
  • Understand the software development lifecycle
  • Have experience in one or more popular programming languages
  • Possess analytical skills, be solutions focused and have good writing skills

Technical skills and qualifications

Knowledge of:

  • Developing native, cross-platform or hybrid mobile applications
  • User interface design, wireframing and screen mock-ups
  • Using source code control systems, testing and publishing mobile applications
  • Native mobile device functionality and sensors (eg. mobile push notifications, geolocation etc.)

Your degree may be in:

  • Information technology, software engineering or computer systems.
