Procurement and contract management

Procurement and Contract Management Graduates assist with all aspects of the IT procurement process, including consolidating stakeholders needs and researching companies and technologies and analysis. This role assists in the negotiation with clients and suppliers and is also assists in the awarding and managing the ongoing contract. They also assist to update IT procurement policies and processes within agencies in line with state legislation.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Assist to document specifications for key products and services, record business requirements and assist to record business cases
  • Provide research into technical and commercial options for fulfilling requirements
  • Assist with tender, evaluation and acquisition processes
  • Observe negotiations with suppliers
  • assist to suggest alternative providers/ research
  • assist to record ongoing government contracts and panels
  • observe the implementation of procurement policies and processes.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • possess good interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
  • enjoy problem solving and finding solutions to challenges
  • be able to work in a team as well as independently, and to deadlines
  • develop, build and manage relationships with suppliers and clients
  • have attention to detail.

Technical skills and qualifications

Your degree may be in:

  • Information technology, business, law or commerce.
